Clouds collide soundlessly
with mountain crest
rising above forests
of frosty green.
Cohesions of crystals
branching toward
deep blue morning sky.
Snow, harvests
gathered from the night's storm
lie stacked along tree limbs,
mounded to vex gravity
and daunt the wind.
Wonder accumulates
given the thinnest ledge,
the barest edge
on which to take hold.
